in tonys last moments he sees them. peter and pepper and harley and maria. and he loves them.
they dont love him.
maria stood there, regal and distant, as she always was.and the silence as he begs her forgiveness is very telling.
harley sat in front of him, enthusiastic as he always was. he sits enthusiastic as he finds all those small weak parts that he thought were gone and rips them to shreds.
pepper was next, screaming one minute and gentle the next. she called him crazy, a lunatic, raving about the stars and what was out there. she was right.
and then there was peter, a soft pressure against his arm. he sits and he stares. he turns slightly and says come join me.
